My Summer. Oct 4/11

Hi guys! I realized that it's been FOREVER since I updated you! Part of that is my momma wasn't feeling good and she has to help me with the typing. And now, we have a needle nose, needle toothed pointy eared beast keeping us all busy. So. Three weeks after my last story my momma had a stroke, she said she told you guys. I was really worried, gramma came to stay with us for a whole month so I knew it was something serious. I tried really hard to be a good boy, but it was a worrisome time so I wasn't sure what to do. Cat was really good and was momma's nurse. Anyways, momma finally was able to go back to work and life went back to normal, 'cept that she wasn't able to do no herding with us cause she had no energy from still being sorta sick (she looked fine, so I'm not sure how that works).

We've been working on rally stuff at home and momma says I'm a SUPERSTAR! I learn super fast, and I love making momma smile, so I try realy really hard to do it right. I learn faster than momma-Impulse AND Turner! Apparenty we get to go herding again soon, but I'm gonna need to buy some gumboots cause it's really wet out there now. Anyways, I know all you want to see is my pictures, so here you go!


First of all, this is me tonight. HI!


Cat is the best snuggler of us all.


She also spent her time entertaining us all.


Uncle Turner took a long time to forgive momma for going away for a week, but then he helped keep her warm when she was sleeping.


He got pretty good at being a blanket.


Zazzles was snuggly too.


Omgoodness! I forgot! My sister Eva came to stay for three weeks while momma was still at the doctor place! She and grampa had a lot of fun together throwing the ball. I just chased them around.


Then we got all dressed up (I even had a tie on for a bit!) for Canada day. We watched a parade on tv.


We helped momma pick berries once they were ripe.

What? You need me to explain? I wrapped myself up for Cat for her birthday. I had no money and neither did momma.


I practiced some yoga this summer.

And Then. THEN! My momma decided there weren't enough of us and got another puppy! WTF?!


But actually, I sorta like him.


We play lots and lots.


I may not have been a good nurse, but I'm a real good big brother! (and don't tell Halen, but Cat will always be my favouritist).

The Longest Beach in the World. By Porter. - May 12, 2011

Hi guys! Didja miss me? As usual, I've been busy. Just with hanging around the house stuff mostly. Ohbut I did get to go herding! My momma was just gonna put Cat in, but then I got to come too just to watch and there was room so I got to go herding too! I did real good, I listened to my momma and she says that maybe by next year I get to go on trial. She sounded pleased, but on TV going on trial is a bad thing, so...hmm, I'm not sure. Impulse and Turner tell me it can be fun, and they showed me all the BIG HUGE ribbons they've won. Maybe I get to be the lawyer in the trial.

So, anyways the beginning of May my momma had a lot of friends over and we had a big party! My brother and my sisters were there, and a couple uncles. It was really cool cause my uncle Duffy was there too! He is Uncle Turner's brother and we've never met him before. He brought his house brother Skye who was the neatest dog EVER! He's a black and white mixed with a long legs and long tail.

Uncle Duffy, Skye and their momma stayed all weekend cause they had to come from far away. So the next day we took them to my beach! Do you all remmeber my beach from when I was a baby puppy? (I'm not a baby puppy no more, I'm nearly EIGHTEEN months old!) We went to that beach. It's the longest beach ever momma says (note from the momma, it's *called* Long Beach, it's not the longest beach ever). AND, and...I didn't urp on the way over! Momma says I looked a wee bit green (I'm black, I think she needs her eyes checked), but I kept it down! We walked and ran and ran and ran, and me and Cat were REALLY good puppies and got to run off leash the whole time with everyone else, it was SO MUCH FUN! Then us dogs hung out in the van while momma and Christine went shopping and looked and water creatures. Sounds boring to me, but we were tired and sandy so we had to sleep and let all the sand dry off in the car.

Without further adieu (momma helped with that word), here are some pics!


We got off our leashes and we ran and ran and ran. And then we came back.

Skye found some mussels and paraded them around in front of all of us. All we wanted to do was sniff them!


He really liked his mussels. I think cause they clacked when he ran.

Uncles Turner and Duffy going for the same frisbee. It all turned out okay.


Skye dared me to carry the frisbee. I said it was kinda gross and sandy and made a big fuss, but I finally did it. That's why everyone's laffing at me. Yuck, why would anyone want to carry that around, I can't believe momma took a picture of it!

My Weekend! By Porter. - March 15, 2011

I toldja I had another story to tell!

Well, momma finally decided I was a big enough boy to get a herding lesson. It wasn't really a lesson though, I got to do what I wanted cause it was my first time. Did you know how much FUN sheeps are?! I remember a bit from when I was little, but holy cow! I wasn't really sure that I was allowed to be chasing them like I was, so I kept looking at momma but she wouldn't look at me!! So, I just did what my heart told me to, and that was that to make her happy I should bring her the sheep. It took me a bit to figure out exactly how that is done (speed is not necessarily the way to go here), but I finally got it! By the second time I got out there I wasn't looking at momma so much and stopped eatin' poop and did my job better. It's really hard when your brain is still little and there's good smells and good poop eatin', and everything's movin' so fast!

Oh right. Cat and some other dogs got to go herding too. But that's not important. *I* got to go herding, that's all that matters! Momma says I have to post all the pictures though. Fine.

First is me. Cause it's my post. There aren't a lot of pictures with me and the sheep in the same one cause I was running really fast and it's hard for them photographers to keep up. I'll try to remember that next time. Momma says speed is not everything in this activity, but I'm inclined to disagree.

I finally settled down a bit and momma was SO HAPPY with me! And then she made me quit. Just when I was getting the hang of it!

Next is Cat. Shalako's Hello Kitty. She wasn't worried about NOTHING! But that's only cause she's older than me. Our herding instructor said she was "special" and that she wanted to steal her cause she is such a nice working dog. I dunno, she's just Cat. And last time *I* looked, cats aren't allowed to go in trials and stuff, so haHA!


She wasn't even scared to go between the fence and the sheeps!


All business, and still pretty.


Lookit her, them sheeps were trying to get away and she made sure they stayed with momma!


Momma says this pic reminds her that Cat is still a baby. This is what she looks like a lot at home.


She was nice and calm most of the time.


This is my friend Sox. CH Caitlands Grand Slam (some letters back here too). He was sniffing baby sheltie feet. Momma says someone will probably ask, he is CH Blue Isle Field of Dreams x Caitland Double Attraction. He's related to me somehow. He's also a littermate of Evo's.

Some of my other friends got to play a little bit on sheep, they were in some sort of "test"...to see if they knew what to do when they saw sheep.


This is Logic, my brother's housebrother. Shalako's Fuzzy Logic. He was really good!


He knew what to do right away! But I hear this isn't his first crack on sheep either.


This is my sister Eva. LookQuest Leap of Love. She was even FASTER than me! She reeeeally liked the sheep. Momma says I'm more "biddable"..does that mean she's putting me up for auction?


This is my sister Savina. LookQuest Leap Cause She's Hot. She kinda took my thunder. My instructor even told momma she kept the wrong puppy! Then I got kinda worried...wrong puppy...auction...uhoh! Momma hugged me and said she's glad she kept me though, she didn't say nothing about ppl bidding on me at an auction. Savina's really good. She's more confident than me, and more biddable than Eva. Maybe we're going to go bid on sheeps? I dunno.


She even has good brakes!


This sheep kinda had enough and keep stamping her feet at Savina. Savina had to tell her where to go and just how to get there! She's a tough girl!

And finally, this is my brother Jasper. LookQuest Leap Froggin' Jurny. Momma says he's had to work really hard on his impulse control and he wasn't sure if he was allowed to have fun chasing sheeps. He had to keep checking with his momma to make sure he was allowed. He did finally decide to go for it and had some fun! (momma also tells me to let everyone know he's doing really well and hasn't been biting people anymore)

It was a super fun day, and I got to see my brother and sisters too! Momma says she's so proud of us all and is really happy with how we turned out (like there was any question!). All of us but Luna have been on sheep now and all of us show a lot of potential! That makes momma very happy. I asked if we can go again this weekend and momma handed me the paper and told me to find a job cause herding is expensive. I think she was joking, she knows I can't drive and how am I supposed to get to a job without wheels? Besides. Isn't my job herding sheep?
